Biodiversity in the Age of AI: Genomic Insights, Environmental Data, and the Past and Future of Life
Takashi Gojobori, Yushan Scholar
Amidst the interplay of climate change and anthropogenic pressures, Professor Takashi Gojobori of National Cheng Kung University leads an interdisciplinary team integrating aquatic ecology and information science. By utilizing AI to analyze marine genomic data, the team simulates the responses of microbial ecosystems to environmental changes. This presentation will traverse the path from genomics to habitat governance, demonstrating the potential of data integration. Echoing the Eco Plus program’s commitment to ESG and SDGs, this talk aims to unveil a vision for a new generation of scientific governance.

Yu-Chung Chiang, Distinguished Professor
In an era necessitating a rethink of the coexistence between nature and society, Professor Yu-Chung Chiang investigates the evolution and conservation strategies of Taiwan's endemic plants, grounded in East Asian floristics and population genetics. This lecture will traverse the path from genetic data to habitat governance and sustainable management. By integrating conservation, biogeography, and societal demands, Professor Chiang proposes a framework for ecological resilience to face future challenges.
